Hey everyone! Sorry for the lack of posts even though I'm on spring break, I've been trying to work my butt off to make some money. And currently, I'm trying not to buy anymore nail polishes (except for maybe OPI Silver Shatter!) and I'm considering downgrading my nail polish collection. :\

But here's my current nails that I did yesterday night for my friend's party today. You've probably seen floral nails before and I've tried and practiced it and it hasn't come out right so I'm finally happy with how it came out =) I was also inspired by staring at Clara's floral nails which inspired this!

The base is Essie Mademoiselle then I made a gradient from the bottom towards my cuticles with NYC Gramercy Glitz, which is a pink pearl based opaque jelly packed with glitters. I did 3 coats of Mademoiselle and about 2-3 layers of Gramercy Glitz. I did a flower with NYC Long Time Lavender and the leaves are made with LA Colors Light Green nail art color and then traced everything with Kiss Nail Art in Black.

Catrice Week [Day 1]

fuchsia pink-red with orange gold shimmer. 2 coats and 1 coat of top coat.

The formula and application was easy and excellent, that's why I like Catrice nail polish. ^______^ I wish I could get moreeeeeee haha.

Borghese Glitters

Sorry for the lack of updates :( But today I'll have multiple swatches to make it up :] School has consumed my time! But I went to a haunted house on Saturday and it was frikkin' awesome!! :D I looooved it and it definitely makes me want to go to other haunted houses. I thought it wasn't going to be scary at first but going through all that, boy it was SCARY! LOL! :P

Here's my swatch of Borghese Vigneto Berry. It's a berry red-fuchsia with pink shimmer. It dries matte but with top coat, it's beautiful! :) The swatch is 2 coats and 1 coat of top coat.

Next up is Borghese Purple Confetti, which is a purple-berry base with different color glitters. It dries matte but when you put top coat it comes out shimmery :) The swatch is 2 coats and 1 coat of top coat.

And finally is Borghese Medeiterraneo Sea, which is a sapphire-royal blue base with blue glitters. It dries matte but it comes out so beautiful with top coat! :) The swatch is 2 coats and 1 coat of top coat.

Looking for French

I was supposed to post this yesterday but I didn't get to swatch all the colors (somehow this post got posted after my Zoya post even though I clicked Post on the Zoya one after this post). Anyways, for a while now, I've been looking for a very nice french manicure/sheer colors & I picked up 3 bottles of natural and natural shimmers. & please excuse my dry fingers :( I didn't put lotion on before taking these pictures D: Don't hate meeee! & Don't be disgusted :(

Essie Room With a View - 3 coats and no top coat

light/pale pink with small shimmer. The formula and application was good. A very cuteeeeee color & definitely perfect for a French manicure (:

Essie Show me the Ring - 3 coats and 2 coats of top coat

shimmery nude. The formula and application wasn't that bad. very natural. This was my nails for this week so I added rhinestones that I got online (1 pearl, 2 clear and 1 red heart). A very cute color for just natural wear - nothing too extreme.

Essie Petal Pink - 3 coats and no top coat.

light pink rose jelly. The formula was sheer but the application was easy and dries quickly. Cute color and added the quick and sloppy French tip to see how it would look as a French manicure. It's not that bad.. when I look at it right now (8:48pm) but it doesn't seem to match my skin (I feel like my skin tone got darker, lol). Or maybe it's the lighting of my room :\

Notice: I will start a one month nail polish ban (starting today May 4th 2010) because my boyfriend wants me to since I have been spending a lot of money recently on nail polishes, especially my Zoya's.

The ban does not allow me to buy any more nail polishes except for my transdesign last chance OPI batch from transdesign & the items I will have for my giveaway once I get at least 50 followers.

In that one month ban, I will come up with and provide more nail designs (hopefully my creativity will work) and swatches of the nail polishes that I will have gotten (Zoya & OPI).

Instead of having one large post, I will do SOTD, swatch of the day and maybe NOTD, nail of the day using the swatch I have for that day. (: That way I hit two things with one stone :D & that means more updates!

Quest for YELLOW nail polish!

Heart tips on ring finger and french on the other fingers. I couldn't think of another way of describing it, lol. Since I'm a righty, it's easier for me to do the nail art on my left hand rather than the opposite. My nail art isn't as nice on my right hand & the heart isn't as nice looking as my left. The glittler outer part of the heart is thicker than the other side :(. On the bright side, it still looks like a heart.

So after I prepped my nails & applied base coat, I used Essie's Mint Candy Apple. Be careful with this polish because although the color looks nice and the formula is good and thin, the application is tougher than you think because you have to make it equal. Though the first coat might not look equal, be sure to make your second coat equal. I used 2 coats of MCA and then applied a top coat. When it dried, I drew the outline of the heart on the ends of my ring finger, filled in the heart and applied a gold outline over the white heart. Wait until it dries & seal it with top coat again for the finishing touch.

Walgreen Mini Haul/Purchase

Rimmel London French Rose. Sheer jelly light pink chiffon - I bought this color because I needed a french manicure/pedicure color. I never tried this brand and the brush size really surprised me, lol. The formula is sheer and the application is smooth. Doesn't dry as fast as OPI, Essie or China Glaze but not bad in terms of waiting for my nails to dry.

Sinful Colors Rise and Shine: 2 coats and 1 coat of top coat

Turquoise with shimmer - reminds me of China Glaze's Tuned Up Turquoise, unfortunately I don't have that bottle anymore so I can't do a comparison swatch - maybe in the future if I remember. The formula was good and the application goes smoothly. The only thing I didn't like was that a lot of nail polish gets on the brush and the rod that holds the brush and there's always a ball of nail polish rolling down from the brush. :\ But it dries quick and when it's dry it looks like a matte polish but looks better with top coat. Love the color & if you're looking for something similar to CG Tuned Up Turquoise, this should be your color. :)

Sinful Colors Mint Apple: 2 coats and 1 coat of top coat

Dusty mint jade with small gold shimmer - similar to Sinful Colors Rise and Shine but just a lighter and dustier shade. Not really that close to Mint Candy Apple although the name is has 2 of the 3 words of it, lol. Good formula and smooth application. Dries fast too! I likey :).

Maybelline Banana Bamba: 3 coats and 1 coat of top coat

lemon/banana yellow with slight shimmer. Two coats is good also but I wanted the color to be even. The formula is good but applying it isn't that good. If your coat is uneven then then it shows in the second and third coat that it's been applied unevenly. Not a bad color, I really like it but I don't think it looks nice with my skintone.

My journey to find a nice yellow polish that would match my skintone is still in progress. I've tried China Glaze Golden Opportunity which didn't work out and the Maybelline Banana Bamba hasn't quite captured me when I look at my hand. :\ Does anyone have any suggestions to a nice yellow? I'm planning on getting China Glaze's Lemon Fizz to give it another shot, hopefully I'll get it soon.

I'm thinking about doing a giveaway when I reach a certain amount of followers on my blog. I haven't picked out what I'm going to give away but definitely new polishes! :) Keep tuning in to check when I will have my first give away!
