ABC Nail Challenge - Fireberry Red & Fluo Blue

ABC Nail Challenge
Day 6
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Fireberry Red
Joe Fresh Fluo Blue
The reason why I posted 2 photos for Day 5’s challenge is so that I can show more pictures of polishes that I never used or I used but never photographed it. But today’s challenge has 2 polishes, Fireberry Red and Fluo Blue.

Fireberry Red is a deep red with sparkly red and gold glitters and this is shown in (I believe) 2 coats. Fireberry Red was one of the specialty polishes from the Xtreme Wear line, but if you stalk Rite Aid, CVS and Walgreens, you might be able to find one lingering around; that’s how I found mine LOL.

Fluo Blue is an azure blue creme that is shown beautifully in 2 coats. I definitely LOVE the formula and application of Joe Fresh polishes and I’m so glad that they opened a Joe Fresh near my work (5th Avenue, NYC) so then I can stalk their nail polishes! It was 3 for $9 and I believe $4 each? I got a few polishes from there and I would definitely consider buying more, since they are at a good price!

Spark My Heart on Stunning

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend! It's back to the work/school week :( rawr. But anyways here's two polishes from Misa that I've been lusting over and I finally ordered them last month!

Misa Spark My Heart That's A Start, which is a cute frosty red pink with pink shimmer and it's shown 2 coats.

Misa Phazers on Stunning is a dark frosty purpley-gray base with green duochrome shown in 3 coats. AWESOMEEEE♥

Thanks for stopping by and happy polishing! :)

Chunky Holo Scarlet

Hello there! I hope you aren't getting tired of seeing Kleancolor, but I do have 2 more to show you so please bear with me and it will be worth while after seeing these posts! :P Today's post is about Kleancolor Chunky Holo Scarlet which is a black jelly base with 'holo' glitter. It's not 'holo' at all in my opinion because it only displays one color, red/scarlet LOL. But still I like it and I layered it over 1 coat of Zoya Raven.

I hope you all enjoyed & happy polishing :)

Chunky Holo Fuchsia

Hello =) Today's post will be about Kleancolor Chunky Holo Fuchsia, which is a fuchsia/red-purple jelly base with 'holo' glitter that displays red, red-orange, orange and a little bit of yellow-green in the glitter. I've layered 2 coats of Chunky Holo Fuchsia over 1 coat of OPI Diva Of Geneva. I do like this color combination, and Diva of Geneva was the closest I was able to get to the color base of Chunky Holo Fuchsia, even though I was far from it. But I do like them together because you can still see Diva of Geneva and it's awesome color through Chunky Holo Fuchsia as well. :)

I hope you enjoyed & happy polishing :)

[PW] + Nail De Royale Review Part 2

Hi everyone! I hope you're doing well and enjoying your week so far. Today's post includes my Nail De Royale second part review as well as tackling Pink Wednesdays at the same time so I hope you'll enjoy. :) If you haven't read my first part of the review, you can read it here. If you've read, Nail De Royale contacted me asking if I'd be interested in reviewing some of their products that they have available on their website and of course me; I never really had the honor of doing reviews for companies said yes!, was happy to do a review. This review is my honest opinion and I am not influenced in any way to give a review a certain way.

The second part of my review package were 2 jars of glitter - Isis 151507 Deshret and Isis 151510 Pschent. Deshret. I was really excited for these because that way I'm able to make frankens(!!♥♥) with them :D!

First is Isis Deshret, which contains red micro glitters and gold hex glitters. I've created a franken with Deshret by adding clear polish, OPI Bright Lights-Big Color and OPI DS Reflection which both polishes gave it a coral red with golden shimmer to the base. You can kind of see the red micro glitters compared to Royale Pink, which is why I like this franken a lot. This was 2 coats and 2 layers of top coat. The application and drying time was good but it was a little bit bumpier, but that's expected with hex glitters most of the time. I really think this is an awesome franken, and I haven't named it yet... perhaps anyone would like to name it?

Next is Pschent, which contains pink micro glitter and silver hex glitters. I added Pschent to clear polish and China Glaze Something Sweet to create a light bubble gum pink (slightly) jelly with silver hex glitters, though you can't see the red micro glitters much and decided to name it Royale Pink, which seems fitting :P This was 3 coats and 1 layer of top coat. You could do 2 coats, which I was semi-satisfied with but it showed the free edge as a white rectangle across my nails so I decided to cover that with another layer.

Overall, I really like the products that Nail De Royale has to offer, especially Isis which is only $2.99 a jar - and I'm definitely going to order more in the future for some frankens! Perhaps maybe I'll be able to create multiples of the same ones that maybe my followers/readers would like and I'd take requests as well, though I'm not a great frankenist. :P I also loooove the customer service that they give as well, they were really friendly and we talked throughout the process before I received my review package. I love their packaging as well because they used saran wrap over the polishes/jars and then wrapped it again with bubble wrap. This shows that they are careful and that they put care into their packaging when sending their orders out. :)

If you haven't noticed, I decided to use a different watermark, LOL. I get tired of things sometimes and then I start wanting to use something new so TADAAAA!

Hope you all enjoyed, happy polishing & happy Pink Wednesday! :)

[PW] + Nail De Royale Review Part 1

Hey everyone! I hope you're all doing well :) Today's Pink Wednesday features China Glaze Pool Party! This is shown in 2 coats and 1 layer of top coat. The picture isn't exactly color accurate because it's hard to capture its color but it's definitely a beauty and a favorite summer polish for me. Along with that I added a small nail art to the mani. as well so I hope you'll like it.

This is my honest review that is coming from me only and I am not influenced by anyone to do a review a certain way. Nail De Royale contacted me to do a review which I was happy to do. They were really friendly and they sent me a few items to review, 2 of which are in the picture above. China Glaze Pool Party and Omega Labs USA Nail Art Striper Brush in #175 were both used in this portion of the review. I received all my items for the review wrapped in plastic wrap and then bubble wrapped to make sure I received the package perfectly. I love how they carefully packaged it and went the extra mile with it. :) The formula was excellent for both and the striper brush as well. It's a bit watery compared to the other striper brushes that I have but I like this one more. I like this one more because when I'm doing nail art and it gets on the side of my nail and onto my skin, it comes off easier than the others which are more like regular creme polishes. Definitely a plus so far on my review and I'll be completing the next portion of my review, hopefully soon. :P

Stayed tuned and hope you enjoyed! :) Happy polishing!

129

Hey everyone :) Hope you're doing well, me? Not so much. I recently got bit by a mosquito(s) and I have 5 on my face, 2 on my neck and 5 on my left arm. One of them on my arm is on my index finger and it's swelling a bit and it makes me feel like Quasimoto (from the Hunchback of Notre Dame), which I joke around with the bf about.

But here's my nails that I've had on for 2 days, which I picked out for my first day of job orientation at my new job. Alix Avien 129 is a polish my bf brought back for me from Bangladesh and I love the brand! The formula and application is good. There's a good drying time as well and it doesn't even smell bad compared to another one he brought back. He brought back a few of this brand but I wish he brought back more but I don't think there was a lot of variety when he saw them. But I love this color! It's like a red-pink fuchsia shimmer. And this is shown in 2 coats and 1 layer of top coat. Minor tip wear on the bottom from doing things with water. But still a beauty! :)

I didn't take a very good picture - but this was taken with my phone at my train station haha! It was about 8pm and it was still pretty nice outside ~ I just wished my camera caught more sun light though. :\

For those who are wondering, I'm holding a cheetah print heart necklace! It's from Forever21 and it was $4.80! I ordered some black rhinestones on eBay and I can't wait until they come in so I can decorate the black cheetah print areas with black rhinestones :B♥

Hope you all enjoyed and happy polishing! :)

Superhero Surprise

Hey everyone! I hope you're all doing well :). Today's my bf's 21st birthday and I thought I'd surprise him by doing a Superhero mani. because he's been bugging me to do them especially since I found some on tumblr and posted them on his Facebook wall haha. So it took me hours to do these and I realized afterwards that I should've done my left hand with the Superhero symbols and my right hand with their heads - OOPS and too late haha! :P Next time. It was a challenge for me to do the symbols on my right hand but I'm pretty proud of most of them!

For the skin, I used a franken I created for it which was created with OPI Alphine Snow and China Glaze Sunset Sail

Thumb: Batman and his symbol - Batman reminds me of Swiper from Dora the Explorer LOL.
  • China Glaze Bermuda Breakaway
  • China Glaze Lemon Fizz
  • Kiss Nail Art in Black

Index: Green Lantern - I'm most happy about the symbol
  • OPI Suzi Loves Cowboys
  • Essie Pretty Edgy
  • Kiss Nail Art in Black
  • Kiss Nail Art in White

Middle: Superman - I really like how the Superman symbol came out
  • China Glaze Bermuda Breakaway
  • Essie Dramatic Drachmas
  • China Glaze Lemon Fizz
  • Kiss Nail Art in Black

Ring: Wonder Woman - I'm proud of her face LOL
  • Essie Dramatic Drachmas
  • China Glaze Lemon Fizz
  • Kiss Nail Art in Black

Pinky: Flash - He looks a little funny to be but my bf doesn't think so. I also like how the Flash symbol came out.
  • Essie Dramatic Drachmas
  • Kiss Nail Art in Black
  • OPI Alpine Snow
  • China Glaze Lemon Fizz

My bf loved the surprise and he even uploaded it onto his Facebook so his friends can be jealous haha! And the picture was taken with his iPhone on the train.

Hope you all enjoyed and happy polishing! :)

Pink on the Brink

Hey everyone, today I'll be posting about a new nail polish brand to me, not necessarily new to everyone. So I got this in a giveaway prize that I won a while back.

BYS, I believe is an Australian brand, correct me if I'm wrong. But this is my first BYS and I may consider getting more :P This swatch is BYS Pink on the Brink - it's a red-fuschia jelly base with silver and fuschia glitters and is shown in 4 coats. On my index finger, I've layered 1 coat of Pink on the Brink over 2 coats of Sinful Colors Black on Black. I like both versions. The only problem I had with Pink on the Brink was the smell of the nail polish, it's definitely something different compared to the other brands that I've been using. :X

Hope you all enjoyed & happy polishing :)

3 Year Anniversary

Hey everyone! The bf and I's third anniversary of dating is closely coming (May 12th) =)♥ I'm super duper excited, except for the fact that, that day, we have class all day LOL. So instead, we're going to be celebrating tomorrow :)! Since it was our anniversary coming up, my procrastination made me want to do my nails and I didn't know what to pick so I asked him what color, he said blue, then I asked creme? glitter? shimmer? He said glitter. So I didn't really want to use blue glitters that I already had again, but I did include it differently & I hope you'll enjoy!!

The polishes have not made their debut in my blog except for one, so I'm killing 2 birds with 1 stone.
For my base, I have 1 coat of OPI Austin-tatious Turquoise from the Texas Collection over 2 coats of OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui. For my accent nail, I have Milani Gems, which is known to be a close dupe of Deborah Lippmann's popular Happy Birthday. I know Gems and Austin-tatious Turquoise have been out for a while, but I haven't been able to use them  yet so here's their debut. I recently got Gems as I browsed my Duane Reade because a lot of the times nail polishes come really slow in my area. :( But I am still happy to be able to get my hands on it, since I didn't want to dish out $18 for Happy Birthday. I also used Gems as a "celebratory" accent to highlight that there's a reason for a celebration, haha!

At first, I was planning to use Austin-tatious Turquoise by itself but I didn't like the sheerness of the polish even after 3 coats so I found Suzi Says Feng Shui which seemed like a close base-ish to Austin-tatious Turquoise.

I hope you enjoyed and happy polishing! :)

Amazing!

Hey everyone, sorry for being MIA! I'm back-ish since my exams are over... for now until finals and spring break starts on Friday for me. I'm going to try to be working a lot so hopefully that'll allow me to have more mani's since I'll be putting on and taking off a lot.

So on Sunday, I was strolling along Soho with my mom and we came across this guy who can free hand spray paint these in 5 minutes with a blank canvas. He doesn't spray them neatly or anything just sprays and sometimes uses a few props to help cover certain parts to make it look like that. It's sooo amazing! He also uses magazines and a ruler and a carving/sculpting tool.

But after I left Soho to go to Times Square, I saw another Asian guy doing it there lol! And to think he was the only one! But I do have a video of him doing the 2nd one in 5 minutes. I'll try to post that when I can. :)

Here's a picture of my current mani. that I took with my phone this morning since there was sun! We had great weather in NYC on Monday but Tuesday and Wednesday, it rained... boo! So much for good weather lol so today is another sunny day and I had to take advantage of that :P My nails are still in the process of growing but I couldn't help myself :P

This is China Glaze 3D Fantasy from their recent collection, Tronica. It's a red/coral holographic but it's not a lot of holo goodness compared to the previous 2 collections of holo (OMG & Kaleidoscope). It kind of makes up for missing out on those 2 collections. The mani. is 2 layers of Orly Nail Amour (which I got on sale for $3.99!!) then 2 coats of 3D Fantasy and 1 layer of top coat. :) I was debating whether to do a black crackle over and tested with my nail wheel, but my mom doesn't like the crackle effect haha! But I'll post that later.

Last thing on my agenda for today, I recently got an email from Sara about The Fresh Air Fund. The Fresh Air Fund is in need of host families for this summer. Host families are volunteers who open their hearts and homes to children from the city to give them a Fresh Air experience that can change lives. If you could help to get the word out it would really help us place these wonderful children into a loving host family. It's only for up to two weeks, but it's an experience that can change their lives forever.

hope you enjoyed,
and happy polishing! :)

Cult Nails

Hey everyone! Quick update on my giveaway counting, I'm about half-way done... I believe! Lol and more than 234+ entries including additional entries and minus a few disqualified entries so far. I'm taking a break from studying for 2 exams I have on Thursday to post these long overdue swatches. You've definitely seen them tons of times, but here's my pictures! This set of pictures were actually my re-take of the original pictures that I was not satisfied with. Luckily there was better lighting in this picture and it looks a lot clearer than the original. Hopefully there will be better weather like this more often when my nails grow out. And don't worry I've taken in consideration and thought about what YOU would like to see on my blog. I hope to post about how I take care of my nails in the near future, when my nails grow out because I hate nubbins!

By now, I'm pretty sure that you've heard of Cult Nails, which is a nail polish company a blogger by the name of Maria of R3daily created. She created 4 nail lacquers and she just recently opened up pre-orders for her 2nd collection. And if you haven't gotten the first 4 nail lacquers maybe this will help you decide!

First nail lacquer up is Iconic. Maria describes this as a berry red with gold shimmer and red flakies.  The swatch displays 2 coats and 1 layer of top coat. What a total beauty ;) It worked with 1 coat for me but I used 2 in the swatch just in case.

Next up is Living Waters, Maria describes this as deep navy blue with green and blue micro-glitter. The swatch displays 2 coats and 1 layer of top coat. THIS IS AN AMAZING COLOR - I love ittttt!!<3 This polish was actually Maria's version in creating another nail blogger's color in creating how water looks at night with the shimmer. Definitely a must have and very unique in the nail polish world, in my opinion! I've actually worn this color for swatch and 2 mani's. :P

And here's My Kind of Cool Aid, which Maria describes as purple/gray with a shimmer; a "gravender" :P. The swatch displays 2 coats and 1 layer of top coat. This is definitely a different gray than what I'm used to seeing, which are normal or dusty grays.

Finally, the last one is Quench, which is described as a red polish with a very glossy finish. It definitely can work with different skin tones and the color changes depending on the lighting.

Overall, I love the formula which is B3F and organic =) and the drying time is quick as well. I'm very satisfied with Cult Nails and I'm definitely going to get the next collection!

Hope you enjoyed and I'll definitely try to finish with the giveaway entries as soon as I can (after exams?)

Crackled Anchors

Hey everyone! I've been a little busy with school work and I'm still trying to enter in all the entries because there's a lot more entries than I expected :P Currently, my nails are nubbins because I've been having a lot of breaks a lot so I cut them short. But in the meanwhile, I have a lot of nail pictures backed up so I'll be posting them in the meanwhile. :) Although you've probably seen them before, I hope you'll still enjoy :)

First is China Glaze Anchors Away Collection, I only got some of the collection, not all :P
* I believe everything was two coats, but maybe 3 for white cap. :)
1. Ahoy!
2. First Mate
3. Pelican Gray
4. Seafoam Spray
5. Starboard
6. White Cap

Then I added China Glaze Crackle Collection over them
7. Ahoy! + Lightning Bolt
8. First Mate + Crushed Candy
9. Pelican Gray + Fault Line
10. Seafoam Spray + Broken Hearted
11. Starboard + Cracked Concrete
12. White Cap + Black Mesh

Late Post

Helloooooo everyone! Sorry for not posting in a while, I've been busy a lot but that doesn't mean I've neglected my nails! :P This is from the vault, you might be able to know that it's been a while - Zoya 3 Free Nail Polishes because they reached 20,000 Facebook followers. So here are my swatches, which weren't that great, in my opinion since I'm looking back at these. :P

First one is Astra, it's mostly a clear base with red/fuchsia packed glitter and there's barely any clear spaces. The swatch is 2 coats and 1 layer of top coat, pretty nice and shiny :)

The second, which is my favorite, Crystal. I've been wanting this for a long time after seeing it on blogs *drool* and I jumped on this chance to get it :) It's a metallic blue with gold flecks and silver glitter packed in. VERY BEAUTIFUL. I believe the swatch is 2 or 3 coats and 1 layer of top coat, which looks the same to me :P

The last one is Nova, my least favorite of the 3 :\ but it's a red-purple but more purple tone jelly base with silver glitters packed in. The swatch is 2 coats and 1 layer of top coat.

hope you all enjoyed & happy polishing! :)

Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day to those who celebrate or does something special on this day. :) I spent my morning at work until 2 and then had lunch with the bf :) walked around and shopped around-ish. Saw this cute bag at Aldo which I'm sooooo going to buy the next time I'm near my workplace, lol. Anyways no Valentine's Day mani. but I do have a nail wheel full of colors. These nail polishes were brought back to me from Bangladesh from my bf. :) I love the colors despite wonky brushes and weird-ish formula. But the colors came out great and I don't even know which ones to use first! :P So hard to choose!!

1-5 were from the same brand and I love the formula
I also looooove 8-13! Definitely awesome metallic streaky finish which came out nice. During the process of swatching, it didn't look as nice until the finish product!

Hope you all enjoyed your Valentine's Day! & happy polishing!

Lunar New Year

Here's my Lunar New Year (Chinese New Year) mani. :)

OPI DS Reflection is a golden red with pink holographic polish. The holo doesn't appear that much as other DS polishes though, but nonetheless still beautiful! :) The mani. has 2 coats of Reflection and 1 coat of top coat. And since it's the year of the rabbit, I added that to my mani. (don't mind the emo smudge eye LMAO). Originally I wanted to use the nail art to write the Chinese characters but it doesn't work that well and my nails are not wide enough for me to have enough space. :(

hope you enjoyed & happy polishing!

China Glaze Cowgirl Up
shimmery red toned purple. 2 coats and 1 coat of top coat.

China Glaze Side-Saddle
brown-plum with gold shimmer. 2 coats and 1 coat of top coat.

Overall, the formula was great and the application was smooth and easy! I love love love these polishes and I'm so glad I got these! My babies haha♥ ;)
