MM OR AA? Let's Compare!

Karen from Addicted to Nail Polish requested a comparison of Sephora by OPI's Midnight Mambo and OPI's Absolutely Alice. So here's my take on both of them next to each other. This is my first comparison that I've done and hopefully it'll be a good review for you nail polish lovers! :) (I actually wanted to post this earlier but got home too late after a day of movies and ROCK BAND!)

Left to right:

Index: Absolutely Alice

Middle: Midnight Mambo

Ring: Absolutely Alice

Pinky: Midnight Mambo

The first picture is a swatch of both polishes with only one coat of each and no top coat. You can tell already that Absolutely Alice is a clear base with darker blue glitter and gold glitter and Midnight Mambo has a lighter shade of blue base with silver glitters. Absolutely Alice's glitter are the same small size whereas Midnight Mambo has small glitters and bigger silver rounded glitters.

The picture above is a swatch picture of AA and MM with 2 coats and no top coat. AA is a darker 'royal' blue with gold glitters and again MM is a lighter 'sky' blue with silver glitters.

Midnight Mambo

Sephora by OPI Midnight Mambo

shiny stuffed blue and silver glitter. This is a limited edition online only polish at Sephora and I found out about this when I was arranging a swap on MUA. After looking up what Midnight Mambo was, I was like O___O I have to have it! So I ordered it the next day for myself and the MUA-er that I was going to swap with. It came so fast too! The swatch is 2 coats and 1 coat of Seche. Without top coat it's a bumpy but it's not as bumpy as China Glaze's Flying Dragon. I used this as my manicure with 2 coats of Seche and it was still bumpy. I don't know if it's my Seche or their formula. Maybe I should use more Seche to smooth it out. I LOVE THIS!!!!!

Swap & Mini Haul

A mini haul at the beauty supply store and one nail polish from a swatch. Sorry if I'm boring you with swatches you've probably already seen. I cut my nails yesterday because they were breaking a bit on the edges and hopefully they'll grow back soon. I still have some swatches that I took before I cut my nails so it won't be dead around here *hopefully*. Looking at the swatches makes me sad because I miss my nails! T_T

Essie Demure Vixen

dusty grayed out pink with a purple iridescent shimmer. 3 coats and no top coat. I've been lemming this a while and finally got my hands on it at a beauty store. The formula was a little thin but the third coat evened it out. It wasn't that bad applying it and it gave me no troubles. :)

OPI Cuckoo For This Color

medium jungle blue-green shimmer. 2 coats and no top coat. It's from OPI's Swiss Collection that I picked up in a beauty store by my boyfriend's pick♥ Application and formula was OPI great. :) One of my many favorites from their collection.

OPI I've Red The Script

first picture is one coat & no top coat and the second picture is two coats & no top coat. It's a one coater except that there's a small slight sign of VNL, but I'd still use it with one coat. Lovely color and I'm happy I swapped for this polish. :)

OPI Yodel On My Cell

medium blue with slight green shimmer. This is from their Swiss Collection also that I was able to pick up. My boyfriend picked this color out :)♥ The swatch is 2 coats and no top coat. AMAZING. I took the swatch pictures in my bathroom because the lighting worked better than my room. But for the rest of the pictures, the lighting worked better in my room, LOL. Anyways Amazing application and formula by OPI.

Random Swatches Part 2 - Essie & Misa

Essie Barbados Blue

light blue frost. The swatch is 2 coats and no top coat. This was one of my first Essie bottles that I own. Back then, this was my favorite and now I've grown out of it a bit. But I still have some love in my heart for it. :)

Essie Chinchilly

light/medium gray creme. The swatch is 2 coats and no top coat. The formula and application was great. I love this polish!

Misa No Shrinking Violetta

light pink with gold shimmers. The swatch is 2 coats and no top coat.

Misa Runway Diva

dusty rose / muted mauve color. The nail polish is darker and dustier in real life. The swatch is 2 coats and no top coat. It was taken with the sunlight. I'm going to have to take another picture of this to show you the true color. But amazing formula and application.♥

Random Swatches Part 1

So I was going through my nail collection and I realized that not all of my polishes are on my nail blog. Then I went on a swatch spree and went through and picked out almost all the nail polishes that I haven't posted about.

China Glaze Mom's Chiffon

pink creme but it's a brighter than it looks ~ almost neon, but it's not. The swatch is 2 coats and no top coat. I love this color and I haven't used it much, but I will! The application and formula was amazing and easy. The swatch picture came out nice. I took this near my window when the sun was still out. :)

Cover Girl Boundless Color Bronze Beauty

grainy bronze shimmer. The swatch is 2 coats and no top coat. I got this a long time ago and loved it. I haven't used it in a while now. The drug stores don't sell Cover Girl polishes anymore. I should've gotten a few more bottles before they were gone *regret*.

Eclipse P06

pale light blue creme. The swatch is 2 coats and no top coat. The formula was good and it was alright when I applied it. The second coat evened everything out. I like it a lot. I also got this a while back on Soompi but I never had the chance to use it. I think I might get some more from the seller!

Goldie Pillow

shimmery pink polish. The swatch is 3 coats and no top coat. still a little vnl but cute and ideal for little girls. I purchased this online from a seller on Soompi's Selling&Trading thread, which I am a part of. I never tried this when I got it but I think it's adorable. Their nail polish comes with a bow and the cap of the nail polish bottle is in the shape of a tulip. The top of the cap is so cute and creative. I love this polish but I think next time, I'll use it to layer or incorporate it into a pink glitter gradient!
