Pic. Spam!

Hello all! Today was my first day of classes as a second year in college. It's a long day since I stacked my classes for only Tuesdays and Thursdays and one class on Friday. Public Policy, Great Works of Literature II, Microeconomics, and Introduction to Business. My classes seem good though, I just really need to focus this semester but I will definitely try to keep up with my blog and post a few times a week rather than daily (I simply don't have as much time as the summer) especially since I'm trying to work also when I don't have classes.

Anyways, so I got GREAT NEWS! I WON MY FIRST GIVEAWAY! Second prize but still better than not winning at all. It's from Kristen at OH MY POLISH. I'm so surprised I won because I never won before and I basically lost most of my hope of winning until today!

In addition to winning second prize for Kristen's giveaway, I finally got my sample package from viva la nails and I will be doing a review on them ~ coming soon. But they all look soo good and I'm definitely tempted right now! Haha.

My nails of the day today is Catrice Poison Me, Poison You! I received this in an internatiaonl swap from Make Up Alley. This is my first Catrice and I'm VERY pleased. The manicure is 2 coats of PMPY and 1 coat of Seche top coat. My nails are getting longer but still a little short.

And here are pictures from my mini vacation that I came back from this past weekend:

My baby cousin Allyson on a lounge chair :)

Allyson again, running from the fountain. The funny thing is that she loves playing with the water!
She loves the souvenir bottle and would not share with my cousin Alex~

Allyson and I on a little baby ride that she's able to ride on! She loves sucking on her index and middle finger~

On the car ride from Virginia home to Brooklyn, NY. She loves the camera and everyone spoils her with love because she's so adorable and funny :)♥

Really beautiful sky in the background as we were in Maryland. :)

Cloud 9

Here's a picture of one of my nails that I did a few weeks back but I didn't get a chance to post. The base is Brucci's Kathy's Baby Blues (2 coats). I used OPI Alpine Snow to create the clouds on my ring finger (if they look like them!) and I topped it off with Essie's Matte About You. I wanted to make more clouds but whenever I tried to add more on my other fingers, they didn't come out right, so I just kept the clouds on my ring fingers. This picture was taken before I cut my nails into stubby nails. :P

Caught in a Bad Romance~

So this will be the last time I'm going to blog until Monday. I'm going on a mini summer vacation to Virginia with my family :) I'm totally excited and I couldn't wait all week for this!

Anyways, so I did a manicure of Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance. And it honestly felt awkward because my index finger was so short. This is before I cut all my nails down. And to "relieve" some awkwardness with my fingers, I added a lightning bolt because Bad Romance + lightning bolt = Lady Gaga. :) Funny side note: My dad likes Lady Gaga and says her name when he recognizes her song come on the radio when we're in the car. =P

Rite Aid Mini Haul Again!

Another Rite Aid mini haul, but I'm really liking the drug store brands! They're cheap and they're good! This time, I was able to spend less than $10 at Rite Aid, the other few times recently, I've been buying Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure. :P

Wet N Wild Dream Poppy
medium coral pink. The swatch is 2 coats and no top coat. Amazing and beautiful. Easy application and good formula. I'm definitely getting more Wet N Wild's! :)

Wet N Wild Red Red
it's a medium red. Cosmo Girl's Kiss of Approval Beauty Award Winner. It's a bit darker irl compared to the swatch pictures but my camera and I did the best we could to get close to it! The first swatch picture shows 1 coat and no top coat - very little sign of vnl. The second swatch picture shows 2 coats and no top coat - just to be sure of no sign of vnl. I love the formula and it was very easy to work with and apply. I can definitely see why it got the approval from Cosmo Girl. But isn't Cosmo Girl no longer creating any magazines? I used to subscribe to them and my subscription wasn't finished and they sent me something saying that they aren't producing any more so that the rest of my subscription would be moved over to Seventeen Magazine. Huh.

Brucci Kathy's Baby Blues
light baby blue creme. The swatch is 2 coats and no top coat. I love this color and it was VERY easy to apply. I'm really liking Brucci. And they restocked on Heidi's Glow in case anyone wanted to pick it up if you're near my neighborhood, but I picked one up for my 100 followers and belated 1 year blogaversary.

A reader said that Brucci isn't B3F. I looked at the ingredients and I only saw Formaldehyde which is found in nail hardeners. But I didn't see DBP or Toluene, so I'm not really sure but I checked MUA and someone said they aren't B3F either. But I emailed Brucci asking them to clarify for me, HOPEFULLY they'll get back to me and not ignore me. (update: One person responded to me and said she'll "transfer" me to their Brucci NY for a reply. Nothing yet though)

83 FOLLOWERS?! I'm really happy I've gotten this far because honestly, I didn't think many people would read my nail blog. :x I thought I'd be the only one rambling to myself lol! But with all your support, I continued to blog more and it's been more than a year and it's hitting almost 14 months since I've started. Share my blog if you'd like and hopefully when I hit 100 followers, everyone is welcomed to enter into my very first 100 followers + 1 year blogaversary giveaway! (which means I have to start buying the giveaway stuff :P)

Random Swatches Part 3 - OPI

This is my last post for my random swatches because I think almost everything's been swatched in my collection and onto my blog. Except for my recent purchases which I haven't swatched since I'm stuck with short nails for a while until they grow out. After having my nails kind of longish for a while, I don't like having short nails. Reason being that, I can't pick a color that would really look nice with short nails & there's not much room as a canvas. :\

But if there's anyone that has any nail art for short nails, please email me pictures & links to your blog and I'll have a feature post! :) I'm very interested to see what people would do with their short nails! and it might inspire meee ;) (email: findkatherinewu@gmail.com)

OPI Holiday Glow
brown with gold glitters. The swatch is 3 coats and no top coat. The formula was a little on the shin side so I had to use a third coat. I bought this a while back but I haven't touch it. I don't know why I haven't picked you out earlier! :( I'm sorry♥

OPI I Only Drink Champagne
gold champagne frost. The swatch is 2 coats and no top coat and a small sign of VNL but it still looks amazing. I use to have OPI Kyoto Pearl and it's just the light champagne version of it. A bit streaky though.

OPI Italian Love Affair
light pink shimmer creme. The swatch is 2 coats and no top coat. This is a favorite of mine. I love this and I'm so glad I picked it up. I got it for half the price too! 50% off from Duane Reade a long time ago. I did my cousin's toes with this and Hidden Treasure on top and it looked amazing.

OPI You're A Kabuki Queen
hot medium pink creme. The swatch is 2 coats and no top coat. I also picked this up on clearance and I'm glad I did. This color is so good!

Sephora by OPI Mermaid to Order
medium blue-green. The swatch is 2 coats and no top coat. My first Sephora by OPI polish and one of my long time favorites.
