{Loyal Product} Clinique Moisture Surge

Hi everyone! I know it's been a very long time but I've been struggling with the desire to blog, finding the material to blog with and also my nails haven't been the best. Whenever I'm not working, they're slowly growing but whenever I get back to work, they always break. Currently they are nubbins right now, but I hope to grow them out and try to be more careful and aware with what I'm doing when I'm working/using my hands (that should be one of my resolutions for 2014).

In 2013, I haven't done much nail looks as I've mostly stayed loyal to my favorite go-to polish, OPI My Very First Knockwurst. I've gone through about 2 bottles and I do have back ups. My original go-to polish was Sephora by OPI Xox Betsy, but we all know that's discontinued and I regretted not getting back ups. My co-worker would always ask me if I was wearing MVFK when I wore Xox Betsy, so I gave it a shot and I've been hooked ever since.

Another 2013 climax was towards the end of the year and it was when my boyfriend bought me the Samsung Galaxy EK-GC110 digital camera. It's a digital point & shoot camera with DSLR components. A lot of factors played into my decision for this camera, which for one of course is the picture quality and clarity. I always thought that I'd save my money and purchase a DSLR for me to blog with, but this camera has some DSLR qualities and it isn't heavy. I also don't need to spend money on buying different lenses as well PLUS the zoom is AMAZING. I was never amazed at any camera product until I saw this product in Best Buy. The Samsung Experience worker tested the zoom and it was able to zoom very far to a fire extinguisher and still captured a clear picture. So now that I have a camera that I'm happy with, I feel the urge to blog more. And you'll see what I mean in this post.

Enough talking about 2013, and let's talk about now. Since I don't have any nail pictures to blog about, you probably know what I'm going to be talking about based on the title of this post. Lately I've been getting into more beauty and skincare products and I'm just going to blog about a product that I've used for a long time. I share this product with my mom - as she is the purchaser of the product. Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief is a face lotion that is super light and applies SO smoothly onto the skin. The reason why my mom and I love this product is because we both have sensitive skin (I've gotten it from her). She has VERY sensitive skin and when she finds something that works for her, she sticks with it. Moisture Surge does not have a thick formula and it doesn't leave my face feeling oily or anything. I love to use this all year round but sometimes I switch and use the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. The lotion leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth that when I'm wearing it, I tend to touch my cheeks a lot.

Clinique Moisture Surge is allergy tested, 100% fragrance free. On the packaging it claims "rapid, long-lasting hydration in a refreshing oil-free gel. Fast-absorbing formula with active aloe delivers a burst of moisture. Smooths, softens, plums up fine dry lines. Locks in moisture all day. Helps skin better resist dehydration despite drastic shifts in humidity."

Pictured is a small 1oz jar that I filled because my mom has the larger jar in her room.
What are your opinions on this product?

Hope to see you soon and thanks for reading!

2011 OPI Pirates of the Caribbean Collection

Hello everyone! It's been quite a bit but I'm back for a quick post to bring back some memories hopefully for a number of my readers. Since my last post, I've been enjoying my summer working and taking some time to spend with my family. After taking some time off work to spend with my family, my nails have gotten its chance to grow and make me happy! I even had to file it down a bit because it was getting a little long and I wanted to be more careful when I got back to working. I did a number of swatches today just to be able to get back into the groove of things and I do miss blogging. I just feel that I don't provide the best pictures or nails to really show them.

So when this collection came out, I hesitated to buy them because I found a "similar" collection for way cheaper, which I did blog about. Yup... it's the OPI Pirates of the Caribbean Collection from 2011. Honestly, it's been hard lately to catch up with ALL the new collections that are coming out compared to back then when I'd be able to get the latest collections. It takes some time for me because most of the time I'm either at school or working. I'd have to find specific days or times that I'm available in order to make a trip specifically over there. Luckily for me, today was my day off and I just finished my driving lesson nearby.. that's right... I'm learning how to drive! It's about time for me to try to get my driver's lesson (which I did have my first road test & it didn't end well). I'm still hopefully and practicing as my next road test is 1 week from today! Hopefully I'll be able to squeeze in more practice with my dad and instructor before my test. And I hope it goes well that I can friggin' pass already! LOL. But it honestly isn't a necessity for me to drive where I live, but I wouldn't mind having it so sometimes I can drive.

ANYWAYS, so I've accumulated and hunted for some of the collection - as I do not have the entire collection. Here are my pictures of the ones I do have from this collection:

Here is Mermaid's Tears shown in 2 coats and topped with Seche Vite. It's on the dustier side of a mint green. I've been lemming for this polish for a while and when I found it, I was OVER THE MOON! It was as if I've completed a long journey of searching ^___^;;

Skull and Glossbones was actually the first and only polish I got from the collection back in 2011 and it was instantly a favorite. I loved the polish a lot because I was able to wear it at work and my co-workers always complimented me on the polish and always asked me for the name of the polish. This is shown in 2 coats and topped with Seche Vite. I actually bought a back up bottle today for this polish. After swatching it today, I feel like I've re-discovered a long lost love, HAHAHAHAHA.

And this cutie is Steady as She Rose. I can't believe I passed up on this polish 2 years ago but I'm glad that one of my co-workers got her nails done in this color. After we talked about this polish, I was on a hunt for it! I found this along with Mermaid's Tears and I helped my co-worker get a bottle for her as well. It's a muted dusty light purple/lavender creme. I used 2 coats and a coat of Seche Vite as pictured.

Last but not least, Stranger Tides. I picked this one up today because I've tried the Sinful Colors version of this and I did end up liking it (which I eventually sold a while back). I'm glad I got Stranger Tides because it is definitely a unique polish in my collection, not only for OPI but my entire collection. It's a dusty light yet murky yellow-green-gray, LOL. I know, a weird way to describe it =x

Anyways, I hope that my take on this collection either make you want them because you haven't gotten it or makes you remember these lovely polishes and make you consider pulling them out of your collection to rediscover.

Thanks for stopping by, and until next time.

Playing Catch Up

Hello everyone! This is kind of a 'welcome back' post for me in attempting to return to blogging. I apologize for neglecting my blog without any notice, however, I've been trying to focus on my studies and raise my GPA in school. On top of school, I'm also balancing working. I'm not complaining that the work is tough or strenuous but I'm VERY clumsy, so I tend to chip my nails a lot. Lately, they've been tearing and chipping easily, so now they are currently nubs. I prefer not to swatch when I have nubs because I prefer my nails to be longer and I hate when I have nubs. Below is a picture from my previous post when I swatched Misa's Jester Ate the King Cake. This is the length I would like for my nails to be and when I would like to post swatches or anything like that. I apologize for being picky, but this is my preference and I don't like when I paint my nubs and they look off to me. =\

Anyways, even though I haven't been blogging, I still have done my nails and if you might have seen them on my Instagram (@ohaiwutang). I also started a hash tag to follow my nail adventures and you can see all of them through the hash tag #ohaiwutangnails.

Button London's All Hail the Queen. This photo was taken inside the fitting room of All Saints in NYC's Meatpacking District. I wanted to make my pictures more creative instead of the standard pictures I normally have so I took a picture with their signature Ram Skull! It was a little awkward to position my hand and fingers but this was the best picture out of all of them.

The next picture is Nailtini's Frappe from my January Ipsy glam bag. I believe this was my first month towards my Ipsy subscription.

Follow my instagram at @ohaiwutang for the rest of my nail photos up until now.

See you soon,

ABC Nail Challenge - Jester Ate the King Cake

ABC Nail Challenge
Day 10
Misa Jester Ate the King Cake

Jester Ate the King Cake is a bright pastel yellow jelly-creme, which is shown in 3 coats. Definitely one of my favorite yellows, especially sometimes when I don’t buy many yellows (I feel like it clashes with my skin tone). Bright pastel yellows I feel suit with my skin tone compared to regular bright yellows.

ABC Nail Challenge - IDK

ABC Nail Challenge
Day 9
China Glaze IDK
IDK was a part of the China Glaze OMG Collection in, I believe, 2009. This collection along with Kaleidoscope are one of the most popular and hard to find polishes, minus eBay. IDK is a purple holographic shown in 2 coats. This picture was taken with indirect sunlight. To see its crazy holographic, you can also look at the color under the kitchen stove light.
