Today marks the first out of seven days of Catrice week! I love Catrice and I wish I had all of their nail polishes because they're soo yummy and beautiful! :) Each day this week, I will post up swatches from the ones I own, thanks to swaps! (=
Catrice Be My Millionaire
silver-copper metallic. The swatch is 2 coats and 1 coat of top coat.
Catrice Big Spender Wanted!
fuchsia pink-red with orange gold shimmer. 2 coats and 1 coat of top coat.
The formula and application was easy and excellent, that's why I like Catrice nail polish. ^______^ I wish I could get moreeeeeee haha.
So I finally got my hello kitty stamping plate that I ordered from Born Pretty Store, thanks to Katrina for the code :) I was so surprised that Jessica (from BPS) added the stamper and scraper as well! & Christmas stickers! :) Totally love her and definitely going to order from her again. :) Super sweet and always emails me on updates on my order.
Today's a franken I made :) I don't have a name yet, but I'm open to suggestions. It's a black jelly with blue/turquoise and copper glitters.
This was 3 coats and 1 coat of top coat since it's a black jelly.
So I had a funny yet tiring Black Friday. Here's a mani. from the vault, OPI DS Magic. The mani. is 2 coats and 1 coat of top coat. I absolutely loveMagic! It's so beautiful and it's a royal blue holographic! :) Totally awesomeeeeeee<333
In my previous post about my mani of Sally Hansen CSM Sequin Sandal, a reader asked about how it compares to China Glaze Wagon Trail. And I thought, "Omg! Why didn't I think of that!?" So this post goes out to HappytPumpkin for this request/idea. :)
In a bottle comparison, you can see that there's silver glitters inside Sequin Sandal but that doesn't translate onto the nails.
This is a comparison picture of China Glaze Wagon Trail and Sally Hansen CSM Sequin Sandal. In the following pictures, it is a swatch of 1 coat each. Can you tell which one is which?
Here is the comparison of WT and SS with 2 coats each; first without flash then with flash
(the flash pictures include 1 coat of top coat each)
So if you couldn't tell, Wagon Trail is on my middle and pinky nails and Sequin Sandal is on my index and ring nails. In conclusion, WT has a darker base and SS has more shimmer. They are very similar and perhaps dupes.
hope you enjoyed,
P.S.: Catrice week (one Catrice polish per day) is coming up =)
This is another manicure I tried before I removed it, during my indecisiveness moment for a mani. Sally Hansen CSM Sequin Sandal is a dark base olive green with olive green shimmer. This is 2 coats and 1 coat of top coat. I like it on, but I wasn't feeling it. :\ But nonetheless awesome!
I don't know if anyone did this comparison but I bought OPI Merry Midnight a long while back and recently I bought Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Problem Child. Debating on which color I was going to do my mani. I looked at Problem Child, then I remembered something looked REALLY familiar to this and I found Merry Midnight in my stash. So today's post is a comparison post! :)
Here's a picture of the bottles together
Here's a comparison picture at 1 coat of each
Here's a comparison picture at 2 coats of each
Here's a comparison picture at 2 coats of PC and 3 coats of MM.
Here's a comparison picture at 2 coats of PC and 3 coats of MM and 1 coat of top coat on each.
In conclusion: MM is more plum, opaque but shows more flakies than PC. But PC has a darker base and the formula is thicker.
Here's my second franken named That's Berry Dazzling! It's a berry pink creme with glitters :) The swatch is 2 coats and 1 coat of top coat. I think that the formula is a little thick so I'll have to add like 1-3 drops of nail polish thinner. But I really like it !! :D
Today's a recent manicure that I was thinking about doing but then I changed my mind and took this picture before removing it. Indecisiveness (-.-;). Anyways this is OPI Dim Sum Plum, which I got from a swap with Katrina! :) It's a plum purple creme. The manicure is 2 coats of DSP and 1 coat of Seche top coat. I'm planning on trying a new top coat that I read about in a blog post about top coat comparisons, INM Out the Door Fast Dry Top Coat, which is B3F and Seche isn't. Pretty good reviews although Seche is most loved, despite being non-B3F. I really like the color but that day, I wasn't really feeling it as my mani. Thinking about the name makes me want to go eat dim sum sooo bad♥ ): Anyways, hope you enjoyed, <3katherine.
I got my monthly magazine today and I saw this promotion. I thought I'd share this with everyone.
To get your free Orly, you can either bring the December/January issue of Seventeen magazine or you can print out the coupon and bring it to a participating ULTA store. You may receive one bottle of Orly Nail Lacquer of your choice of Shine, Oh Cabana Boy or It's Up To Blue. Only 1 per person. This deal is valid starting from November 23, 2010 until supplies last.
And on another nail note, I created my first franken in a while! :) I named it Glitter Blues because of the color as well as its significance in that I haven't made one in a while. :P It's a medium cornflower blue jelly with turquoise and gold glitters. For the swatch, I used 3 coats and 1 coat of top coat. The formula was a bit opaque, so the third coat gave good coverage and the bottle color. :) I really like this!! ♥
Here's a list of what I used to create Glitter Blues
I ordered Chanel Riva because the color looked pretty okay. There are so-so reviews so far, in terms of streakiness. This is my first time ordering from their website and I'd say, I had a good experience. I received complimentary free shipping as well as 2 free samples, which I got Chanel Allure Homme Eau De Toilette and Chanel Chance Eau De Parfum. I received my package in 2 days and that's freaking awesome! :D They packaged it well and Riva even came in a Chanel draw string pouch! :)
*the card is a code for complementary standard shipping.
Chanel Riva is from the Côte d'Azur Collection. It's a light baby blue with a blue shimmer, which isn't noticeable on the nail but on the bottle. The swatch is 3 coats and 1 coat of top coat. The formula is opaque and it applies streaky. But the third coat evens it out. I still like it but it's not very unique. Maybe they could've added more shimmer.. or something.
some recent pictures of swatches/mani's in my next few posts & maybe some vault pictures because my nails are short again -_- darn my weak nails!!
So these were another part of my birthday present, one from my bf and one from my friend. :)♥ Totally awesome because it now adds to my lonely Nouvelle Vague in my collection :P
These were wrapped with white wrapping paper and then individually had a Chanel bow tied around them, so adorable! I wish I got a picture of them wrapped before I tore it apart LOL!
Chanel Soho Collection Steel
black with silver shimmer. I like that the shimmer isn't too big and overpowering on this and it's simple. The mega brownie points came from the fact that it took me only ONE coat for this swatch! :) The application was good and although the formula was a little on the thick side, it helped making it a one coater. :) LOVEEE it?
Chanel Soho Collection Strong
black with purple shimmer. I like the shimmer but it doesn't show that much, it looks so nice on the bottle, rawr! But on the plus side, it's another one coater! :D I freaking LOOOOVE the flash picture of this♥!
IN OTHER NEWS, I ordered Chanel Riva :D ~ I hope I get it soon!!
