Gaga

Hi all :) Here's my current mani. and I'm trying different manicures right now because I want to try to do more since summer is finally here and with work, I'll probably only be able to actually do nail art those days and I can swatch during weekdays. But I am definitely trying to post more this summer :)

So I was a bit sad because Lady Gaga was here in NYC (Central Park) on Friday morning and I didn't know until I saw Friday morning's news. So in honor of her coming to NYC, her hometown, here's a mani. that's kind of "recycled" but I think I did a better job than the previous time.

I did 2 coats of Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance and on my ring finger I used OPI Alpine Snow for the white and the shimmer over the white is Sephora by OPI Wild About Shimmer

Hope you enjoyed and happy polishing :)

Layered

Hey everyone! I'm super duper excited because I'm FINALLY done with school and finals and summer is HERE for me! WHOOOOO ;)

Now on to nails - here's the lastest mani. that I've been sporting.

First I used Catrice Hip Queens Wear Blue Jeans, which is a medium denim blue creme with blue shimmer that's kind of hidden, in two coats.

* sorry for the partially blurry picture, my camera is still acting up & I don't notice it until I've resized the picture, BLAH. {seriously need to invest in a better camera -.-; }

moving on.... I then layered Nfu Oh #51 on top of HQWBJ for this awesome layer mani. that I topped off with top coat :)

I wanted to take pictures of the different colors but my room lighting isn't letting that happen, blah!

Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed and happy polishing! :D

Wish I Had A Private Jet

So I got this idea from Kris (My Lucid Bubble) on creating a holographic polish with a pigment called SpectraFlair - I immediately ordered myself 1 gram of that pigment because I wanted to re-create OPI My Private Jet the holographic version. Check out Kris' post here & there's a lot to read about the pigment and her version there! SpectraFlair can be found on Ebay and Kris got hers for $14, and I paid $15 because the guy raised the price. (-_-;) I'm planning on trying to make other holo's with this baby :P

Here's OPI My Private Jet the scattered brown version that I have which is shown with 2 coats of MPJ and 1 layer of top coat.

NOW here's my version with SpectraFlair that I call Wish I Had A Private Jet - I filled an empty bottle with half of the original MPJ I had and then added a small scoop of SpectraFlair Silver. My version is a bit of a dustier version of the original MPJ that I own - I'm guessing it's because of the silver powder but still looks AWESOMEEEEEE. I tried to make my camera cooperate and take non-blurry pictures so I could show you the awesomenessssss.

Hope you enjoyed and happy polishing!

Cherry Blossom

Hello there :) I hope you all are having a good day. Here's my recent nail art mani that I've sported. I got a few compliments on these as I wore them so I'm happy to share these with you. I know I haven't been doing much nail art, but trust me I'm trying to work my creativity sparks in my brain!

Presenting.... my cherry blossom mani! This idea has been floating in my head for a while because I love cherry blossoms, even the Bath&Body Works Japanese Cherry Blossom fragrance! I've held it off for so long because I'd hate to admit it but I didn't have any solid dark brown polish in my collection, AT ALL!! This was very shocking to me and I was able to get my hands on OPI Suzi Loves Cowboys from the Texas Collection

For this mani. I did 2 coats of China Glaze For Audrey as my base - added top coat to make it smooth and shiny. Then I used a thin brush and drew branches in strokes using OPI Suzi Loves Cowboys for the brown. After that's dried, I used a dotting tool and made 4 dots with white (OPI Alpine Snow) and 1 dot of pink (China Glaze Something Sweet). After all that's dried, I topped it off with top coat. :)

I think it could be perfected but this is my first try so don't bash me! :3

Hope you enjoyed and happy polishing!

3 Year Anniversary

Hey everyone! The bf and I's third anniversary of dating is closely coming (May 12th) =)♥ I'm super duper excited, except for the fact that, that day, we have class all day LOL. So instead, we're going to be celebrating tomorrow :)! Since it was our anniversary coming up, my procrastination made me want to do my nails and I didn't know what to pick so I asked him what color, he said blue, then I asked creme? glitter? shimmer? He said glitter. So I didn't really want to use blue glitters that I already had again, but I did include it differently & I hope you'll enjoy!!

The polishes have not made their debut in my blog except for one, so I'm killing 2 birds with 1 stone.
For my base, I have 1 coat of OPI Austin-tatious Turquoise from the Texas Collection over 2 coats of OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui. For my accent nail, I have Milani Gems, which is known to be a close dupe of Deborah Lippmann's popular Happy Birthday. I know Gems and Austin-tatious Turquoise have been out for a while, but I haven't been able to use them  yet so here's their debut. I recently got Gems as I browsed my Duane Reade because a lot of the times nail polishes come really slow in my area. :( But I am still happy to be able to get my hands on it, since I didn't want to dish out $18 for Happy Birthday. I also used Gems as a "celebratory" accent to highlight that there's a reason for a celebration, haha!

At first, I was planning to use Austin-tatious Turquoise by itself but I didn't like the sheerness of the polish even after 3 coats so I found Suzi Says Feng Shui which seemed like a close base-ish to Austin-tatious Turquoise.

I hope you enjoyed and happy polishing! :)

Hey everyone! Today was a nice day so I was able to swatch my collection of China Glaze Tronica! I'm pretty happy with my pictures because my nails are growing back and it came out pretty nice except for some blurriness, blah! I hope you enjoy them :) Overall the formula was good and it applies pretty evenly. Also dries quick so I'm satisfied with the collection. The holographic isn't as strong as the other collections out there and it's kind of scattered but it's still nice!

Previously I've shown you 3D Fantasy which is a red coral holographic

Today I'll start off with the rest of my collection with Cyberspace
light brown holographic. The swatch picture displayed shows 2 coats of Cyberspace topped 1 layer of top coat.

Electra Magenta
magenta purple holographic. Awesome color that looks great on my hands to go with my skintone! :) The swatch picture displays 2 coats of Electra Magenta topped with 1 coat of top coat. This is one of my favorites in this collection.

Gamer Glam
purple holographic. The swatch picture displays 2 coats of Gamer Glam topped with 1 coat of top coat.

High Def
medium blue holographic. Swatch shows 2 coats of High Def topped with 1 coat of top coat. Another favorite♥

Hologram
silver holographic. The swatch shows 2 coats of Hologram topped with 1 coat of top coat.

Hyper Haute
medium raspberry holographic. The swatch shows 2 coats of Hyper Haute and 1 coat of top coat. The color makes me feel all girly :P hehe.

Laser Lime
lime green holographic. The swatch displays 2 coats of Laser Lime and 1 coat of top coat.

Techno Teal
teal blue holographic. The color is so vibrant! The swatch displays 2 coats of Techno Teal and 1 coat of top coat. My other favorite!!♥ I have a thing for teal blues! ;)

hope you enjoyed & happy polishing!

Katy Perry

Hey everyone! Today's post is about some long overdue pictures of OPI Katy Perry Collection and because today I saw America's Best Dance Crew's episode dedicated to Katy Perry I decided to post them. I've swatched them before but wasn't satisfied. I've taken them again and I'm not very happy with them but I'll probably end up doing them again! >< I thought it was a good opportunity to take them that day because the sun was still out after I got home from work. Unfortunately, after the first polish, the sun was setting so I had to take indoor light pictures. But hopefully you'll still enjoy seeing them again and please excuse my dry hands :( and my crappy pictures! I really need a new camera arghhhh!!

OPI Last Friday Night
blue based jelly with silver round glitter and silver microglitters. The swatch is 3 coats and 1 layer of top coat.

Below is a comparison of OPI Last Friday Night (index and ring), Sinful Colors Hottie (middle) and Confetti Party Palace Blue (pinky). SC Hottie has a deeper base color and more silver microshimmer than OPI Last Friday Night and Confetti Party Palace Blue has less shimmer and lighter blue base.

OPI Last Friday Night topped with OPI Black Shatter

OPI Not Like the Movies
green, purple, gray multichrome with shimmer. The swatch is 3 coats and 1 layer of top coat.

Here's a comparison of OPI Not Like the Movies and Wet N Wild Fast Dry Gray's Anatomy. OPI NLTM is on my index and ring fingers and Wet N Wild GA is on my middle and pinky fingers. NLTM is a deeper and more opaque than Gray's Anatomy. It also has the silver microshimmer that Gray's Anatomy doesn't have.

OPI Not Like the Movies with OPI Black Shatter

OPI Teenage Dream
light pink base with silver round glitters and silver microglitters. The swatch is 3 coats and 1 layer of top coat.

OPI Teenage Dream with OPI Black Shatter

OPI The One That Got Away
fuschia with a glass flecked finish. The swatch is 3 coats and 1 layer of top coat; but you can use 2, I just had some missing spots
