First Pink Wednesday!

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great Wednesday and before Wednesday ends, I'd like to introduce something that I'll try to do every Wednesday which is On Wednesdays We Wear Pink! :) And to kick off on that here's the mani. I'll be showing you.

This is a franken that I created along with some others that I still need to re-take the pictures of. This is a coral pink with some subtle gold shimmer. I called it La Beauté des Coraux which is French for coral beauty. I chose French because the meaning itself sounded lame but in French it sounds cooler LMAO!. This is 2 coats and 1 coat of top coat. And in the next picture I added a floral nail art that I did with a dotting tool. I used OPI Alpine Snow and Misa Glitz, Glamour, Smile for the Camera

Hope you enjoyed my first Pink Wednesday and happy polishing! :)

Just Some Holo Lovin'

Hello everyone, second post of the day. The first post was the tag/blog award I received & this post is a nail post :) Now before I get to the nails part, I'd like to ask you what would you like to see in my upcoming giveaway. This giveaway will be a belated giveaway in honor of my 2nd year blogging about nails so I'd like to see what your opinions are & please consider that I am located in the US so there isn't a wide variety of polishes that you can suggest, but I will be ordering polishes as well. I will take suggestions in the comment section and consider them when I am gathering the prize. I hope that many of you will comment and help me decide what to put in my prize :D

And now for the nails portion, FabulouStreet recently restocked on their holo line and they limited them. Unfortunately #61 was sold out by the time I saw it so I only picked up 2 that I really wanted to try - I'll probably order more though just for the collection. & I ♥ NFU OH BOTTLES!

So here's Nfu Oh #65 which is a light blue holographic. The thing I like about Nfu Oh's Holo line is that it's VERY holo compared to China Glaze's Tronica. And you'll see some pictures in different settings (some where taken on a rainy day and some in the sun to show difference). I love the formula and it applied smoothly as well as a good, quick drying time. This is in 2 coats and no top coat because I didn't want to disrupt the holo.

Hope you all enjoyed and happy polishing :)

Adventure Island

Hey everyone! Hope you all are doing well :)

Monday's post included a sneak peak which was this :

With that being said, the answer to the sneak peak is Sinful Colors Adventure Island Collection!
Those who guessed correct were Liz and tahillia! :D

Does anyone like the idea of the sneak peak feature? I don't know if I would continue doing this - so leave a comment on that!

~*~*~
Anyways, today wasn't the ideal day for swatching since it's cloudy and I think it rained, LOL I slept until 2pm so yup :X I haven't really gotten a lot of sleep lately so these days when I'm not working, I try to get as much sleep as I can. I've also been staying up a lot longer which has become "normal" and routine for me although I'd like to change that.

So here are my indoor swatches of Sinful Colors Adventure Island Collection. I actually didn't see the display for these in the Rite Aid in my neighborhood but rather stashed with their regular core collection until I spotted them ~ which look awfully familiar to OPI Pirates of the Caribbean Collection. I don't have the OPI POTC Collection but I plan on ordering the mini collection to compare.

Adventure Island is a dusty grayed out yellow green creme. This is shown in 2 coats of Adventure Island and a layer of top coat. My mom saw me swatch this and she absolutely disliked the color but I don't think it's that bad LOL. As I continued to look at it, it looked pretty nice.

Open Seas is a dusty light jade green creme which is shown in 2 coats and a layer of top coat. I like this color mainly because it looked similar to OPI Mermaid Tears which I have yet to get my hands on. This was my favorite polish of my purchase that I was most excited about.

Seaweed is a dusty green-gray creme with tons of gray, which is shown in 2 coats and a layer of top coat.

Star Fish is a dusty pink creme but my picture makes it look vibrant than the actual bottle color. This is shown in 2 coats. I wasn't really excited for this polish when I held the bottle in my hands at Rite Aid but after swatching it on my nails, I LOVEE it!!♥ It definitely became a favorite for me. :B

Verbena is a lightly dusty purple creme shown in 2 coats and a layer of top coat. This is also a very nice color that came out nicely and also another favorite. It makes me think of a lighter version of OPI Funky Dunkey.

Lastly, here's a little nail art that I couldn't help but doing. You've seen this nail art a while back that I did but here's another color combination of it :)

CHOCOLATE DRIPS!
I remember seeing people do chocolate covered strawberries which reminded me and inspired this nail art but no strawberries here.. unless it's a strawberry milkshake with chocolate/fudge syrup haha! For the chocolate I used OPI Suzi Loves Cowboys

Hope you all enjoyed and happy polishing! :)

P.S. - I just remembered it's 3 days past my blog's 2nd birthday so I'll host a giveaway but it might take me a while to gather a prize package. But do stay on the look out ;)

Progress

Why hello there! =P Hope you've all had a good day. Today I will be showing you a cool layering taken in awesome indirect sunlight in my backyard. Lately the sun has been out and shining even past 6 so I'm happy I can squeeze in some nail polish almost each day that I attempt :).

I think I've made better progress in terms of making my nails look nice for pictures because of the brush & acetone trick that bloggers have been using. I knew about it but I wasn't exactly sure which brush to use, especially since I don't really use make up at all so I was pretty clueless until someone {sorry I forgot who!} suggested a concealer brush - so I got mine at ELF for $1 - an awesome steal♥! After I got it in the mail, I've been practicing and I'm definitely improving on that aspect; if only I had a better camera to capture the beautiful nails ;)

Anyways, onto my nails :P

I started off with Nox Twilight Talon which is a dark navy blue with blue shimmer - and it is shown in 2 coats.

Then I layered it with GOSH Rainbow in 1 coat on top - and voila! Beautiful! :P

And here's a future sneak peak - hopefully coming soon. Do you recognize it? ;) If you have a guess, drop a comment! :P {it makes me happy when I get a lot of comments haha!♥}

Hope you all enjoyed and happy polishing! :)

Essence Spam

Hey everyone! Today's a mass swatch post on the brand Essence, which I've showed you two of them before - Surferama and Hang Loose. But here's some more from their other collections, etc.

First is Essence Color&Go Absolutely Stylish, which is a chocolate brown creme with green shimmer. The green is more noticeable in the bottle rather on the nails though, which sucks because I haven't seen such a combination of color & shimmer like this. It took only 2 coats to be opaque to reach bottle color and I added top coat as well :D

Next up is Essence Humpty Dumpty from their Fairytale Collection, which is a metallic purple silver. It looks awesome and I only needed 2 coats. :) The only thing is the weird bottle shape, it's fatter but shorter, lol.

This is Essence Multi Dimension in Purple Cherry, which is a glossy dark purple creme. It took 2 coats to reach bottle color and it's darker IRL, almost like a glossy black creme... same goes for the next polish too. :\

This is Essence Multi Dimension in Midnight Rocker, which is a dark navy blue glossy creme. This, like Purple Cherry took 2 coats to reach bottle color and it is darker - like a glossy black creme IRL. At first I almost couldn't see the difference between PC & MR when I swatched them until I was resizing the pictures.

The final Essence of the day is Essence Multi Dimension in Must Have which is a charcoal silver shimmer. It's basically the typical charcoal silver shimmer - I remember swatching a Sinful Colors one and another similar polish would be Misa Wishing on a Star that I swatched a long time ago (lol). This was 2 coats and 1 coat of top coat.

Hope you all enjoyed and happy polishing! :)

Quick Post

Hello everyone! :D Hope you've all had a good week so far as the week is coming to a close! Here's a new nail post today - Here's Essence Hang Loose from their Surfer Babe collection in 3 coats - which you could get away with 2 but I had some uneven spots. It's a dusty lilac creme with a glossy finish. And I added on the accent nail Essence Surferama for the spots and used a black nail art brush for to complete the spots. :) Hope you like it!

I would've posted more swatches today (pssttt... my Nfu Oh holos just came in today) but the weather was horrible, raining on and off! :( So hopefully another day!

Hope you enjoyed & happy polishing :)

Awesome Day!

Hey everyone! Sorry for the late post but I couldn't resist to share awesome news! :) First here's my nail post and then my awesome happy news! :P

Today's nail post will consist of a new brand that I haven't talked about here and it's all about trying new things and expanding horizons :3 First up is Nubar Mellow Yellow which is a lemon yellow frost shown in 3 coats. The formula is good and it dries quick but the only problem was streaky application but nonetheless I like Mellow  Yellow. :D

Next up is Nubar Pink Dot, which has a lighter pink base than BYS Pink On The Brink which I've previously posted. Pink Dot contains round silver glitters and smaller multicolored glitters. This is shown in 3 coats as well and I layered 2 coats of Pink Dot over Sinful Colors Black on Black for the accent nail. The formula and application was good, and so was the drying time.

For my first time trying Nubar, I'm pretty satisfied and I'm definitely considering a Nubar purchase when I can :P

Now, for the awesome news! Wedges are currently "in" and I've been dying to get a pair. I haven't been able to find the right pair that has made me go bananas (lol) but today is the day! My coworker/friend brought me to a Tory Burch sample sale, nothing there :B but then just before we were going to leave - we stopped by Journey's and we both lost our breath when we saw these BEAUTIFUL STEVE MADDEN WEDGES!
I chose the Light Pink over the Ivory and Taupe - but the real dilemma was Light Pink or Ivory. I would've gone with the Ivory because it'd be easier to wear with almost anything but it didn't captivate me as much as the Light Pink. I'm so happy I found these awesome wedges and they were at a pretty good price considering that they're Steve Madden - for $49.99 at Journeys. The sales associate told me they were selling quick and that they even had to get another shipment for them! So that made me want to get them even more because I was considering on coming back after Father's Day, but I bought them! I feel that it was a good purchase because I don't have any wedges and I can wear it casually :)

I've looked online at Steve Madden's website and they don't have it listed there however I do see it on the Journey's Website except that there is no Light Pink available online - now I'm really happy I got them hehehehehe♥ So for this, I'm labeling this as a Fantastic Find!

Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed & happy polishing! :)

Fly like a Butterfly!

Hey everyone! :) I'd like to show you a new nail art that I've been wanting to do. This is my first attempt which took a few tries to get it to my approved passing. :P

I used Essence Surferama from their Surfer Babe Collection in 2 coats. It's a berry creme that applies easily and dries quick. :)

Now here's my first attempt at doing a monarch butterfly that I was inspired by lacquerized. For this part I only used a black nail art brush, white nail polish which I used a dotting tool to place the dots. It isn't perfect but it's close for a first try :)

Hope you all enjoyed & happy polishing!

Pink on the Brink

Hey everyone, today I'll be posting about a new nail polish brand to me, not necessarily new to everyone. So I got this in a giveaway prize that I won a while back.

BYS, I believe is an Australian brand, correct me if I'm wrong. But this is my first BYS and I may consider getting more :P This swatch is BYS Pink on the Brink - it's a red-fuschia jelly base with silver and fuschia glitters and is shown in 4 coats. On my index finger, I've layered 1 coat of Pink on the Brink over 2 coats of Sinful Colors Black on Black. I like both versions. The only problem I had with Pink on the Brink was the smell of the nail polish, it's definitely something different compared to the other brands that I've been using. :X

Hope you all enjoyed & happy polishing :)

Mom's Pick

Hey everyone :) BOY today was blazing hot! :( I walked outside of my workplace and the streets felt like a SAUNA. -_- Thankfully now I am in my air conditioned room at home! :) Today's post is a mani. that is picked out by my mom, which I did for her toes. She's camera shy and conscious about her feet so I decided to show you with my nails instead.

She chose as her base, Chanel Riva which is a light blue with hidden blue shimmer. It took 3 coats because it applies kind of unevenly due to the formula, which could be better. Then she chose to have OPI Silver Shatter layered on top of Riva - I'd say awesome combination picked out by my mom :) And she doesn't even read nail blogs!

Hope you all enjoyed & happy polishing! :)

A Bieber Mani.

Hey everyone, hope all is going well :) I had a good day, minus work - which reminds me that I have to start looking to see if there's any other places hiring right now, ugghhs. Anyways onto nails~

Nicole by OPI One Less Lonely Glitter is a light purple glitter of round and smaller glitters. This is shown in 4 coats and 1 coat of top coat. I love the color and the sparkly-ness! :) The second picture shows the accent nail with Sinful Colors Black on Black as the base and Nicole By OPI Step 2 The Beat of My ♥ is layered over it in 1 coat.

I also created a new page on the tabs called Blog Sale. I'm trying to make more space for the nail polishes I have and these are the ones that I want to go to a better home. I hope you all will consider this awesome deal because prices are low, freebies, discounts and extras will be given in your package! :) So don't forget to check that out!

Hope you enjoyed & happy polishing :)

Faye

Hey there! I just got through swatching polishes that I have in my collection that haven't been introduced here so hopefully I'll be able to post those soon. In the meanwhile, here's another Zoya that I recently got along with Dove and Caitlin.

Zoya Faye is from their Sunshine (Summer) Collection of this year. It's an awesome golden/bronze mauve and purple with gold sparkles. This polish really kicks butt - I love it!! This is shown in 2 coats and 1 coat of top coat. Definitely a favorite and I'm happy I picked Faye!

Hope you enjoyed and happy polishing! :)

French Twist

Hello :) Hope everyone's weekend is going well! My nails art short again - close to nubbins because my ring finger nail broke (after I saved it from nearly being torn when trying to move a sofa with crazy glue and a tea bag) so I filed the rest of my nails down to have it even. I wish they would grow asap! Anyways, onto today's post I'll be showing is Zoya Caitlin and Dove from their French Twist promotion that they had. It took almost 2 weeks since I ordered for it to get to me but I can understand since they probably had thousands of orders just for two free polishes.

Here's Zoya Caitlin - Zoya describes Caitlin as a smoky purple-tinged medium gray with a creme finish. The picture shows Caitlin with 2 coats and 1 layer of top coat.

Here's Zoya Dove - Zoya describes Dove as a light neutral gray with a glossy creme finish. The picture shows Dove in 2 coats and 1 layer of top coat.

Here's where the nail art comes to play with the promotion of French Twist I decided to try that out and  here's the finished look! There's Dove on my middle and pinkie finger and it's lined with Caitlin at the tips. Caitlin is the base color for my index and ring fingers and it's lined with Dove at the tips. I love the twist of the typical French manicure! :) I'd definitely like to try out other colors as well~

Hope you all enjoyed and happy polishing! :)

Quick Thumb Swatch

Hey everyone :) I hope you all are doing well! Today here's a quick thumb swatch I did at Sephora a few days back and I'm so in love with it that I'm going to buy them!♥

Sorry for the crappy picture but my camera couldn't handle the shimmery shininess of this! This is 2 coats of Nars Orgasm topped with 1 layer of Sephora by OPI Wild About Shimmer. I think Nars Orgasm looks great by itself and layered with Wild About Shimmer. Even another customer complimented me on it! :P

Hope you enjoyed and happy polishing! :)

A Few Essie Swatches

Hey everyone! Quick question for those who know: Does anyone know why TransDesign removed all their OPI's from their website? I know that a while back OPI and etailers had problems and OPI wanted to stop supply e-tailers from selling it, and TD said they were "liquidating" their OPI stock but then it continued to suppy the newer collections until now, where they removed even the link and all the polishes from their website. Also, where do you order your OPI's from? :) Anyways I've been wondering about that for the past few days :( Now I don't have any online beauty supply e-tailers that sell OPI to order from wahhhh!

Here's some recent swatches I did before my ring finger nail broke :( The funny thing is that it was hanging by a small section (painful if I tried to tear/cut it) so then I used crazy glue and the tea bag fabric-material to keep it together but yesterday as I was closing my purse, it broke painlessly! I trimmed the rest of my nails down a bit so that it would be "even" or closer to even with my ring finger being a nubbin. :(

Essie Greenport - I received this from a swap, this actually came out when I was starting to buy nail polish but I passed on it. Afterwards, I totally regretted not getting this one (and Sag Harbor) earlier before it was all sold out and hard to find. Luckily I was able to swap for this from MUA! Greenport is a turquoise teal creme that has a nice jelly-reflective finish and it's shown in 2 coats and 1 coat of top coat. I might even do a comparison post with Chanel Nouvelle Vague and China Glaze For Audrey, to see how it compares to those two to fill my curiousity.

Essie Hot Coco from their Winter 2010 Collection - It's a medium brown that's on the dusty gray side. This is shown in 2 coats and 1 layer of top coat.

Essie Sag Harbor - Received this from a MUA swap and I'm so glad I finally got it after painfully regretting not getting this. It's on the dusty gray side of light sky blue and it's shown in 2 coats with 1 coat of top coat.

Hope you all enjoyed and happy polishing! :)
