New nails today :) It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do for my nails and I thought of different ideas. I will post in the future manicures that didn't work out for me though because not all my nails always come out perfect.

Inspired

After doing my nails with Orly Country Club Khaki, the new addition to my collection, I was thinking about a design to go with it. I tried leopard but I've already done that and I couldn't replicate it with a regular brush; the last time I tried it that came out nice, I used a thin nail art brush. My friend happened to update her nail album on Facebook and I was inspired to create my own version of it. Here's her version:

I didn't add stars though because my nails are kind of rounded so the ends of the stars would poke out and scratch me :(

Minions :)

After watching Despicable Me on Tuesday and I saw on someone's blog I believe, a nail art of a minion - I was inspired to make a minion on my nail too. It came out pretty cute even though it wasn't exactly it but still, I'm happy with my nail art. :) But knowing I wouldn't be able to replicate it on my right hand since I'm right hand dominant, I avoided any nail art on my right hand.

So I haven't been posting because I've been slacking and not really in the mood to post. :\ Yet I don't know why I don't want to... I just didn't feel like it. But I feel like I'm way behind but not really. Maybe it's because I've been so interested in watching tv shows?

I've watched:

- 1st season of Leverage (first cd of the 2nd season came in today from netflix!)

- 5 seasons of Weeds (veryyyy interesting!)

- started the first season of Heroes (SOO interesting and addicting to watch<3!)

Anyways, enough about that. From the last post up until today, I will post up pictures of the nails I did.

I have to admit, I'm slacking on my blog. :(

I guess I'm not as motivated to do my nails as much - or maybe there are no sparks for creativity.

The good news is that I haven't broken my ban :]. I went to Walgreens near my college and saw that there's a new display for the Sally Hansen with Hidden Treasure, however it was the samples that they sent to Walgreens and Hidden Treasure was all gone *cries* They said they will definitely restock when they sell all the sample/trial :( Hope it won't be gone again after they restock lol.

But I do provide you with 2 days worth of SOTD & NOTD.

Double SOTD&NOTD

Yesterday I was unable to do the sotd & notd because after my classes I had to watch a Broadway show which made me end up coming home at 11:30pm-ish. So to make up for it, today's a double sotd & notd :)

Day 3 - looked at Ricky's but no urge to buy nail polishes. :] Hope I could keep this up and keep myself sane! :P

Swatches Of The Day (2):

Zoya Ava : two coats no top coat, peachy pink. Ava is really cute and easy to apply. Really hard to capture in the sunlight since it kind of blended in with my skintone. But nonetheless, a good french manicure color! :)

Zoya Charla : I believe this is from Zoya's new glitter collection. it's turquoise blue glitter with iridescent green, yellow and blue-green colors seen in different viewpoints. My camera couldn't pick up the iridescent colors but it's soo beautiful. It's one of my favorites out of my Zoya batch. :)♥ The swatch has two coats with no top coat.

Day 2

Day 2: no temptation to look for nail polishes. :) busy with law & calculus - then headed off to 5th avenue to eat Halal food and go to the NBA store with my boyfriend. No time to look around, thank goodness or else I would've gotten sucked in by Rite Aid/Walgreens/Duane Reade! :P

I received my Sally's order in the mail today. There's no Sally's Beauty anywhere in my neighborhood or in NYC so I had to order online. White Polar Bear buffer block, pumice bar, and two base coats: Poshe and Nail Life Gripper. I heard good reviews for Poshe and half good and half bad reviews for NLG. So I'm going to try both of them out myself to see which one works for me. :) I also used a 10% off my online purchase so I saved a little!

The formula seemed sheer but came out really nice using only 2 coats! My first experience with Zoya and the application was smooth and enjoyable. The color is really nice & since I came home in time for the sun - I have the swatches with sunlight! Usually I swatch with my regular light in my room at home, but since the sun was still out, I might as well take advantage of it. :D The color is dark blue green but shimmers and shines more green in the light. A very beautiful color & I'm definitely happy with this exchange so far! (: The second picture is closest to how you see it IRL, without all the sunlight.
